I've really been looking forward to Darren Aronofsky's new film, The Fountain. I don't just mean in recent months, either. Long ago I read a synopsis of the plot before a director was even attached and it sounded fucking awesome and right up my alley.
Then I heard Aronofsky was directing it and I was happy.
Then I saw Brad Pitt was going to star in it and I was happier still because for every Meet Joe Black he throws out there, he'll counter with a 12 Monkeys
Then I saw Brad Pitt's beard one day and it was fucking large and in charge and the caption read, "for Pitt's new film, The Fountain."
Then the film fell apart because of budget complications and I was sad.
Then nothing was said for a long time and I was sadder still.
Then Aronofsky was set to direct The Watchmen and I was kind of happy because that's a great book, but it really has no place being a movie.
Then that fell apart and I didn't really care because The Fountain was the thing I wanted to see.
Then Aronofsky said he will return to making The Fountain because it "haunts his dreams and won't leave him alone." He sounds kind of crazy, but maybe not. Maybe it's just that good.
Then Hugh Jackman was set to star instead of Brad Pitt and that seemed alright with me.
So, I've read some more stuff and it sounds even better than I imagined and Aronofsky basically said, "Fuck big budgets. This smaller budget has forced me to be way more creative and the picture is better for it." Not an actual quote, but you get the idea.
So now there is a website for the film that says absolutely nothing about it, but is really crazy and interesting nonetheless. Apparently this weird, trippy, chemical screen will be used often throughout the film. Hmmm...drugs aren't necessary, but they probably wouldn't hurt. Also, I stared at it while coincidentally listening to Fearless by Pink Floyd. They seemed to go together.

I can't believe you read all that!
